F is for face painting!

Face painting is so much fun, and lets you be transformed into animals, or superheroes. So when faced with thinking up something for F, I headed to my local fancy dress shop in search of face paints. I was looking for glitter, and sparkles, as a girl can never have too much of that in her life! However this proved difficult to find, with the man behind the till asking if I was ‘a bit too old for all of that’. The cheek!! I may be 26, but as most of you know I am like Peter Pan – I never grew up. So I resisted the urge to slap him, and instead invested my hard earned pennies in a set of face painting crayons.

One of the funniest things about the alphabet challenge so far is Joe’s face when I tell him what we will be doing. And this time was no exception, as he announced that he would not be doing that (also added a swear word, but I am not going to repeat it as this is a family blog). However after a bit of light persuasion (and a few glasses of wine) he relented. Only with the promise that I wouldn’t paint his face, Bex would.

So Bex set to work, showing off her artistic skills and made me into a pretty butterfly! She then grabbed the red and black crayon to transform Joe into Judge Dread (I have no idea what that is – but that was all he would have done. I wanted him to have a butterfly to match mine!) Lastly she drew some lady birds and flowers on herself.

For a while we admired the work, and were pleased with the results. Though I soon remembered the biggest problem with face painting, the fact that even the slightest touch would result in the paint smearing. Also the effort required to get it off, with Joe still sporting red eyebrows the next day!
